Update: I am not taking new therapy clients at this time. In the meantime, check out my online classes.
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist I work with a wide variety of issues: unresolved conflict, communication issues, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, to name a few. I have extra training in doing therapy relationally. This means valuing the perspectives of all the people in the room and thinking about therapy issues as they affect everyone involved. I think of it as working with the “betweens”: communication, conflict, love, boundaries, and sex all happen “between” people.

Did you know that the majority of therapists only receive one class at most about sexual issues in therapy?
Many receive no formal training about working with sexual issues. You need to make sure you are seeking out a therapist who has the right training to help! As an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist I have had over 150 hours of training in sexual issues and sex therapy. In fact, I wrote a book on how therapists can effectively work with pleasure issues. Helping people develop their happiest, most empowered sexual selves is my great passion in life.
Sex therapy is a talk therapy format. Common topics include desire discrepancy, sexual function issues, infidelity, healing from trauma, identity issues, gender expression, sexual functioning, BDSM, kink, non-monogamy, compulsive sexual behavior and sober sexuality as well as increasing connection, communication, passion, and pleasure.
Looking for solo therapy?
I do that too.

People come to solo therapy for a variety of reasons: anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, identity issues, sexual concerns, addiction and sobriety issues, etc. In individual therapy you can focus on the issues that are important to you and create positive change in your life.

FAQs
Do you offer in-person or video therapy?
I offer both and you can switch between the two if you like. Video therapy appointments (also known as telemental health) are similar to in-office therapy appointments. They are generally 55 minutes long and consist of talk therapy. My telemental health software works like Zoom but fulfills HIPAA standards to ensure your privacy. In order to have appointments via video, you need a computer or tablet, a reliable internet connection, and a place with enough privacy to be comfortable participating in therapy. Phones do not work as well for telemental therapy as the video is so small. All telemental health clients must reside in Minnesota.
What days and times are you available for appointments?
I offer daytime and evening appointments. Appointments are Mon-Thurs. Send me an email at laura@laurarademacher.com to find out my most up-to-date schedule and to see if I have openings.
How much does it cost?
My fee is $200 per individual 55 minute appointment and $225 per couple/group 55 minute appointment. Fees are the same for both in-person and video appointments. I am out-of-network for insurance and payment is due at the time of your appointment. You can use an HSA card to pay for therapy or I am happy to give you receipts to submit for out of network reimbursement.
How can I schedule with you?
To schedule or for any other questions, feel free to contact me at laura@laurarademacher.com or 612.879.0476. Please note that I am able to respond to email more quickly than phone calls. I offer daytime and evening appointments.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit http://www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
