If you are looking for exciting online trainings you can access from anywhere to help you advance your skills in working with sexuality issues and AASECT credit too, I have an exciting option for you! I am very excited to announce that this fall I took on a new role as Director of the Human Sexuality Certificate Program at a wonderful school, The New Earth Institute (NEI) at Southwestern College in Sante Fe, New Mexico. I have been lucky to have the opportunity to teach for NEI a few times over the years and I have always appreciated their commitment to experiential learning. Their students dive deep into self-reflective learning that will help them be better therapists and helping professionals working with sexuality issues. Southwestern College is well known for it’s Art Therapy program and the Human Sexuality Certificate Program at NEI utilizes learning techniques that are often left out of other trainings-processing through creating art, writing, movement, and self-reflection. As I am an AASECT CE provider we can now offer the additional benefit of providing AASECT CE credits. If these sound like the trainings you are looking for, come take classes with me this year!
To earn the NEI Human Sexuality Certificate you need to complete 96 hours of credit, but you don’t have to plan to complete the whole program in order to attend the classes offered. Anyone can sign up for just one class or just the classes that are interesting to them. This fall I will be teaching Sexual Inheritance: Recognizing Ancestral, Familial and Cultural Messages (11/19/21-11/21/21). Participants will examine the messages they have inherited about sexuality and how these have influenced their lives, as well as developing skills for helping clients identify reoccuring messages and patterns in their own family histories, such as creating a sexual genogram. In March of 2022 we will offer Erotic Intelligence and Pleasure Literacy, helping practitioners develop skills for working with pleasure issues and helping clients connect with the erotic in their lives. In the final class of the year (the last weekend of April 2022) we will offer Too Hot to Handle: Therapeutic Approaches to Working with Infidelity, Porn, and “Sex Addiction”. Each class is offered in a weekend intensive format and provides 16 CEs. Follow these links for more information about the program and the school.
Note: This program meets the requirements of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) and is approved for 16 CE credits. These CE credits may be applied toward AASECT certification and renewal of certification. Completion of this program does not ensure or guarantee AASECT certification. For further
