I’m so excited to be traveling to one of my favorite places, Santa Fe, to present with one of my favorite people, Dr. Ginna Clark. Together we will be teaching two workshops:
Ethical Practices in Navigating Eroticism & Boundaries in Therapy
and
Supervising Eroticism in Clinical Practice
These in-person classes will offer both AASECT and New Mexico Counseling and Licensing Board CE’s. Click here for more details and registration.
Ethical Practices in Navigating Eroticism and Boundaries in Therapy
Saturday, August 16th, 2025 10:00 am – 4:00 pm (6 CE credits)
This workshop explores the often anxiety-provoking topic of eroticism in therapy, addressing the fear, uncertainty, and ethical concerns it stirs for clinicians. Despite the high stakes and prevalence of sexual boundary violations in our field, therapists receive little training on how to navigate erotic content when it arises in the therapeutic relationship. Through discussion, case studies, art-making, and experiential exercises, participants will gain tools to stay present and ethically grounded while responding to erotic material with more confidence, skill, and compassion.
Supervising Eroticism in Clinical Practice
Sunday, August 17th, 2025 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm (3 CE credits)
This workshop is designed for supervisors who mentor and train new therapists, offering tools for creating safer spaces for therapists to explore erotic and sexual content that shows up in their work. Too often, these important conversations are avoided out of fear, discomfort, or concern about crossing ethical lines—yet silence leaves new therapists more vulnerable, not less. Without invitations, inquiries, and engagement from supervisors, therapists-in-training may feel ashamed, confused, or unprepared when erotic content inevitably arises in their work, increasing the risk of boundary violations or therapeutic ruptures. Together, we’ll explore how open, thoughtful supervision can serve as a protective and empowering space—one where new clinicians can begin to recognize, reflect on, and respond to erotic dynamics with more openness, skill and confidence.
